Sandra Plaza – Executive Director

Sandra is the co-founder and executive director of the organization. In 2007, she earned her Master of Architecture degree from the NewSchool of Architecture and Design and worked for Rodriguez Associates Architects and Planners, focusing her work on sustainable housing for low-income communities. Prior to San Diego, Sandra received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the George Washington University located in Washington D.C. Her work is easily influenced by her experiences of traveling overseas and being involved with community projects and local organizations. In 2012 she was awarded a fellowship from Design Impact and spent 14 months living in India and working with an NGO whose mission is to improve the health and lives of women and children living in Mumbai’s urban slums.  Sandra on Linked In

Brian Will - Managing Director

Brian is the co-founder and Board of Director’s President for Rebuild Global. He has been in the architecture and engineering industry for more than 10 years. He graduated from UC Berkeley and began his career in manufacturing engineering where he was responsible for new facilities construction. After completing a 3 year project in Tijuana, building and managing a 150,000 square foot manufacturing facility, Brian returned to school for his Masters in Architecture. He worked in residential architecture for two years and was one of the chapter coordinators for the San Diego chapter of Architecture for Humanity before joining up with Sandra to found Rebuild Global. Crystal Neff – Editor-In-Chief, Rebuild360

Crystal is a creative professional who is passionate about advocating social change for communities in need. Her interest in the social sector stems from years of volunteering and experiencing countries and cultures outside her own at a young age. She has worked with design and medical professionals in Peru, Honduras, Mexico, and the United States addressing the needs of developing communities. As an urban studies major at the University of Minnesota, Crystal was heavily involved with organizations such as Architecture for Humanity, the American Institute of Architecture Students, and Rebuild Global and has been a contributing member and writer to many community projects. Upon finishing her undergraduate studies, Crystal pursued her writing career and has worked in the architectural, community development, and engineering fields. It was during this time that Crystal quickly developed a passion to raise awareness about architecture’s social component. Her work is currently grounded in blending the stories and efforts of humanitarians around the world with the goal to inspire action.

Benard Acellam – Creative Writer,

Benard Acellam became interested in the built environment right from childhood, even before being aware that its creators were called Architects. He is now interested in the economic, social and environmental sustainability of the built, social and natural environments. He is a 4th year Bachelor of Architecture student at Makerere University in Kampala, Uganda. He won the Berkeley Prize Travel Fellowship in 2011 and was a participant in Global Studio in Bhopa, India, an international conference: “Re-imagining Inclusive Urbanization: People Building Better Cities.” In addition to his love for building he enjoys writing and traveling.
