Brian Will – Director, Board President

Brian is the co-founder and Managing Director of Rebuild Global. He has been in the architecture and engineering industry for more than 10 years. He graduated from UC Berkeley and began his career in manufacturing engineering where he was responsible for new facilities construction. After completing a 3 year project in Tijuana, building and managing a 150,000 square foot manufacturing facility, Brian returned to school for his Masters in Architecture. He worked in residential architecture for two years and was one of the chapter coordinators for the San Diego chapter of Architecture for Humanity before he joined Sandra Plaza to found Rebuild Global. Sandra Plaza – Director

Sandra is the co-founder and executive director of Rebuild Global. In 2007, she earned her Master of Architecture degree from the NewSchool of Architecture and Design and worked for Rodriguez Associates Architects and Planners, focusing her work on sustainable housing for low-income communities. Prior to San Diego, Sandra received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the George Washington University located in Washington D.C. Her work is easily influenced by her experiences of traveling overseas and being involved with community projects and local organizations. If you ever want to strike up a conversation with Sandra, you can either find her on the soccer pitch, traveling between DC, NY and SD, or working night and day on the mission of the organization. Mirek Knopp – Director

Mirek has been an integral part of Rebuild Global since its inception. He is currently a Project Mechanical Engineer at SC Engineers, Inc, and has had his hand in the design and commissioning of numerous large scale hospitality, institutional, government, and commercial projects including Scripps Institute of Cardiology, San Diego Library, Rady Children’s Hospital, Balboa Naval Medical center, among many others. In the past Mirek has owned and managed several companies. He is the owner of San Diego Entitlement Consultants which specializes in subdivisions and entitlement. He has presented to the San Diego Planning Commission frequently and was an advocate for San Diego developers. He also served as President of Bluepointe Development, Inc. which served to design and develop low income housing in the city San Diego. Aaron Smith – Director

Aaron brings 14 years of marketing expertise – including in the real estate, advertising and sports industries – to Rebuild Global. In addition to spearheading the re-branding of such established companies as Maybelline New York and Mail Boxes Etc. (now UPS Store), he recently led the US marketing launch of a new brand, X Games Energy Drink, in Southern California. Aaron has been the director of sales and marketing for Route56Homes.com, an affiliate of Prudential California Realty, and the director of operations for Sunwest, a non-profit youth sports organization based in San Diego. Aaron’s combined experience in Real Estate, marketing and non-profit work will help guide Rebuild Global’s growth and success. Aaron on Linked In
Jeff Silva – Director

Jeff Silva loves the challenge of making sense in the complex world that exists today and the important problems that need to be addressed. He considers himself an insatiable designer when he’s involved with design that really matters; design that touches humanity in any positive direction. He is currently a Senior Designer for Johnson & Johnson’s Global Strategic Design Office based in NYC. He’s responsible for OTC (over-the-counter) brands such as Tylenol, Motrin and Pepcid. His day-to-day job at JNJ involves collaboration between cross functional teams such as marketing, innovation, project management, engineering and R&D. His role involves integrating the value and competitive advantage of design into the business model of the company.Jeff holds a B.F.A. in Graphic Design and Packaging from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena, California where he also serves as the NYC Art Center Alumni Co-Chair. When he’s not designing, you can find him spending quality time with his two precious kitties Tyler and Munchkin or eating his favorite superfood, the blueberry…usually on top of a pancake with the help of Claire and her amazing cooking.
